At an ordinary spatial experience, the viewer brings dynamism to the existing space and perceives the room relative to his/her position.
Here, in this installation the space is shifting, duplicating, and moving. This dynamic blend of prisms distorts the relative correlation between the space and the person which results with an uncanny perception.
Spaceshift intends to provide an experience of different spaces formed by the common dimensions of a room. Within boundaries of a shared space, the clashing frame-originated rooms are related by digital layers to provide the perception of distinct areas. These duplicated volumes are treated with digital techniques that visualize the complex and the separate aspects of the framed spaces. As the strict boundaries get blurred, the conservative lines disappear and multiple spaces occur.
